At MilkLand, we combine passion, creativity, and a shared love for music to create unforgettable events with a difference. We’re not just about throwing parties; we’re about bringing people together, celebrating talent, and creating inclusive spaces where everyone, from DJs to party-goers, can feel valued and supported.
Our mission goes beyond entertainment – we strive to offer a sensory festival experience to individuals who typically can’t access the music scene. By blending music, lights, lasers, and interactive instruments, we create therapeutic, immersive environments that heal, uplift, and bring people together, all while showcasing local talent.
MilkLand was born out of adversity during the Covid-19 pandemic. With lockdowns leaving music lovers without a space to enjoy the beats they live for, mental health struggles began to rise.
This allowed us to transform a double garage, destined for demolition, into a fully-functional, soundproofed music studio and intimate venue. It became a safe space where musicians and DJs could practice, broadcast, and connect with small, supportive audiences. It was a lifeline for many – a sanctuary where people whose mental health had been impacted by isolation could come together, share their stories, and find relief.
Although we’ve since moved on from that physical venue, the MilkLand spirit lives on. Our first festival, held in Summer 2022, was a life-affirming celebration that brought together over 80 local DJs across three stages for an unforgettable weekend. This marked the beginning of our journey as a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC), committed to providing music-related opportunities for all.
Colin, one of our co-founders, brings with him the resilience and teamwork honed during his time as a Sergeant in the Royal Marines. After his military service, Colin applied his skills as a tradesman, working with charities across the globe to build sensory playgrounds for disabled children. His dedication to creating accessible, enriching experiences for those in need is at the core of everything we do at MilkLand.
Faye, our co-director, juggles two passions – therapy and DJing. Her insight into both the healing power of music and her talent for managing events makes her an invaluable force behind the scenes at MilkLand. From selecting the perfect artists to curating our lineups, Faye ensures every MilkLand event is a hit while supporting our mission to give back.
At MilkLand, we see music as more than just entertainment – it’s a tool for connection, stimulation, and healing. Our vision is to bring the full festival experience to individuals with special educational needs. Through engaging with DJs, dancing, and playing music with donated instruments, we hope to create a space where everyone can feel included and uplifted.
We’re also passionate about supporting local talent. By providing aspiring musicians with access to essential instruments and equipment, we’re helping to kickstart their careers while giving back to the community. MilkLand is a judgement-free space where creativity thrives, and everyone is encouraged to enjoy the music and the experiences that come with it.

The original concept for the festival was to create special memories by bringing music that everyone can enjoy, no matter what your age or background to the Blackdown hills, a place where you wouldn’t normally see these sort of wonders. Since then its been a rollercoaster ride, especially during covid, but we love what we do and the sense of community and joy that it brings. As well as putting on the festival most years, we run local events, and provide support to the local community for anything connected to music and the arts. We’re proud of what we have achieved and have brought to our rural community and the money we have donated to local charities, over the past 10 years.

Our next big goal? To raise funds for an exciting new project – converting an old electric milk float into a mobile sound system! This eco-friendly, solar-powered setup will allow us to take the music anywhere, bringing beats and good vibes to communities far and wide.
Our ultimate plan is to drive the Milk Float from John o’ Groats to Land’s End, stopping along the way to recharge (both the float and our spirits) while connecting with local communities, particularly those who struggle to access the music scene.
With your support, we can make this dream a reality. Your donations will help us continue to deliver music and unforgettable experiences to those who need it most. Let’s spread the joy of music and help make the world a more inclusive, vibrant place, one beat at a time.
We believe in the power of music to unite, inspire, and uplift. Our blog is where we share our passion, insights, and stories about the events, people, and projects that make MilkLand so special.
